Introducing enhanced night combat capabilities, this model features a Luna L-2 IR searchlight on the turret front, an OU-3 IR searchlight on the commander's cupola, and a TPN-1 gunner's day/night sight replacing the MK-4 periscope. It also boasts the Tsiklon 2-axis stabilization system and an improved D-10T2S 100mm gun. Notably, it's the first T-54 series model regularly equipped with OPVT river fording equipment, enabling river crossings up to 5 meters deep and 700 meters wide. Known as T-54AM in Poland, this version's series production started in the USSR in 1957.
