Unfortunately, wider tires don't fit the stock swingarm, posing the primary challenge in Sportster tire conversions. Rick's Motorcycles initially widens the original swingarm, integrating a pre-made steel piece, ensuring no visible traces remain. An additional beam is welded in to enhance torsional stiffness and ride performance. A wider tire necessitates rerouting the belt drive, prompting Rick's to develop an offset kit comprising a new drive pulley, pulley cover, and sprocket cover. The pulley cover features a ring of holes for weight reduction and a sportier appearance. The wider tire renders the stock fender obsolete, leading Rick's to meticulously craft a steel fender in small batches, boasting superior load-bearing capacity.
